Summer Intern
Labor & Industry For Education, Inc. is seeking a summer intern in social media, marketing, and events management. This is an unpaid position but has the possibility of being extended into the fall/winter as a paid position. The intern will focus primarily on the trust, but will also help the agency at large. Trust Counselor
Non-profit office in Cedarhurst, Long Island, is seeking to fill a full time position of Trust Counselor, in a great office environment and a team setting. Job entails managing trust accounts and client services. The department is a Pooled Income Trust which helps elderly and disabled individuals qualify for Medicaid. The organization pays bills on behalf of the clients therefore, careful recordkeeping of the bills is imperative. Trust Counselors communicate with clients on a regular basis about their outstanding bills and any discrepancies that may arise. Must be detail oriented, efficient, comfortable with phone and email, have good people skills, patience, comfort with computer skills and able to multitask. Medicaid Service Coordinator
Medicaid Service Coordination provides linkage to community based services to those individuals who are developmentally disabled and their families. Our overall outcome is to ensure that each individual we serve receives the supports and services necessary to develop self-advocacy skills and independence. The MSC will:

  • Develop the individuals Individualized Service Plan (ISP).
  • Evaluate and coordinate the access and delivery of services outlined in the ISP.
  • Responsible to see that all supports and services are being provided and are consistent with the individual’s needs and goals.
  • Responsible for maintaining monthly notes and updating Supervisor on issues pertaining to our individuals.
  • Excellent organization and writing skills.
  • Must be willing to travel to other programs and individuals homes.
  • Must have excellent public relation skills.

Qualifications:
An associate’s degree in a health or human services field from an accredited college or university or a degree in nursing as a Registered Nurse (RN).
Examples of Acceptable Health/Human Services Degrees: Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Health, Nursing, Medicine, Rehabilitation Counseling, Therapeutic Recreation, Nutrition, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Speech Pathology, Audiology, Music Therapy, Education, Special Education
Must have a valid NYS driver’s license.
Full time position.
Located in Cedarhurst.
Salary:  Commensurate with Experience
